Product · Workflow Engine

Automation & triggers. Runs exactly as you wire it.

Triggers, branches, waits, and rule-based actions — update the CRM, create a task, notify a rep, call a webhook, send on a cadence. Deterministic by design, with an optional AI decision step where you want judgement.

Like Zapier or n8n, but native to your revenue stack: a visual builder for the deterministic plumbing — "when X happens → wait → branch → do Y." Drop in an AI step at a single decision point if you need it. For a whole objective run by multiple agents end-to-end (research → qualify → outreach → book), that's a Playbook.

See it in action

A real workflow — deterministic, with one optional AI step.

Trigger fires when a form is submitted. Rule-based branch routes ICP-fit leads; an optional AI step classifies intent before the workflow assigns and notifies. Rules where rules work, AI only where judgement is needed.

Capabilities

Deterministic automation, governed and auditable

Capability
Purpose
Visual workflow builder
Drag-and-drop builder with 19+ node types. Author in minutes, not weeks.
Triggers
Start on a schedule, a form submission, a CRM change, a webhook, or a platform event — including kicking off a Playbook.
Branching + conditions
If/then logic, A/B splits, round-robin, and operators (equals, contains, greater-than…). The workflow takes the right branch based on the data.
Rule-based actions
Update the CRM, create a task, assign an owner, notify a rep, post to Slack, call a webhook, transform data — no agent required.
Optional AI step
Drop a single AI decide / personalize / qualify node into an otherwise-deterministic flow where judgement helps.
Approval queues
High-risk steps pause for human approval. Mobile-friendly approval UI; SLA timers; auto-escalate on stall.
Quiet hours + business hours
Workflows respect timezone-aware quiet hours per contact. No 2am SMS to a prospect in Sydney.
Wait states
Pause until a signal lands ("when this deal hits stage Negotiation" / "when 7 days pass without reply").

What the engine handles for you

Deterministic-first

Rules where rules work — AI only where it helps

Most steps are deterministic and free: branch, wait, update the CRM, notify a rep. Need judgement at one point? Drop in an AI decision node. For a whole objective run by multiple agents, use a Playbook instead — that's what it's for.

  • Optional "AI decide" node inside a deterministic flow
  • Outcome-aware branching on the AI step’s result
  • Audit log per step with inputs + result
  • Hand off to a Playbook for multi-agent runs
Governed

Built for compliance + RBAC

Every workflow is versioned. Every approval is logged. RBAC controls who can author what. Workflow changes diff like code; approvals required before promotion to production.

  • Version history + diff per workflow
  • Per-workflow RBAC (who can edit, who can run)
  • Production / staging environments
  • Approval-to-promote workflow changes
Extensible

Custom steps via Skills

Need a step that calls your internal API? Author a Custom Skill in the developer platform; the workflow calls it like any built-in node.

  • Skill-as-node — any HTTPS endpoint
  • Per-skill auth (JWT, mTLS, OAuth)
  • Skill test harness with preview
  • Marketplace of community skills (coming Q3)
Pre-built

18+ starter templates

Common motions ship as templates — cold outbound, warm follow-up, recovery, expansion, renewal risk save plan. Clone, customise, run.

  • Cold outbound · warm follow-up · recovery
  • Renewal risk save plan
  • Expansion intent surface
  • Custom templates per industry

FAQs

Common questions

How is this different from Zapier or n8n?
Same core idea — a visual builder for triggers, branches, waits, and actions — but native to your revenue stack (CRM writeback, agents, approvals, quiet hours), and you can drop an optional AI decision step into a flow. For deterministic glue (push X to CRM when Y happens) they're equivalent; ScendCore adds the AI step + governance.
What's the difference between a Workflow and a Playbook?
A Workflow is deterministic automation — you wire the steps and it runs them exactly (with an optional AI step). A Playbook is multi-agent orchestration — it runs a whole objective end-to-end, routing each step to the right agent under autonomy/approval controls. Rule of thumb: plumbing + triggers → Workflow; "a team runs this objective" → Playbook. A Workflow can even trigger a Playbook.
Can I import existing workflows from Outreach or Salesloft?
Yes — importers convert sequence step content + cadence timing to ScendCore workflows; you review and approve before they go live.
How are workflow approvals routed?
Per-workflow approver lists with role-based fallback (e.g. "Manager of the rep who triggered" or "Whoever's on duty"). Approvers get mobile-friendly notifications via Slack, email, or push.

Wire it once. It runs exactly as you built it.

Deterministic, governed automation — with AI only where you want it. Need a team to run a whole objective? That's a Playbook.
